My partner and I are Rent is about $740/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $740 for rent here. The median home value here is around $166,600, which is actually reasonable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Any advice would be great. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Houston it's solid.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value safety, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely pretty good and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (East) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 10 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'm a project manager and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.
