Random thought, I'm a remote worker and Crime rate is something to consider -Holiday City-Berkeley sits at 36.9 per 100K. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Anyone in a similar situation? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in North. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in education. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like sushi.
