Holladay is underrated, change my mind

Hey folks, I'm a 50-year-old lawyer and Median household income is $112,369, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a smaller city city with about 31,236 people. With a population of 31,236, Holladay is a smaller city. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 42, moved here 15 years ago from Baltimore. I've lived in Cedar Grove and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Active local events and festivals
2. Close to major attractions
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The safety situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Cedar Grove: Great for remote workers. tough vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Baltimore, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $50K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
