OK so The median home value here is around $117,400, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 1,994, Holley is a small town. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I overthinking this? Thanks! The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Bought a house here in 2024 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in East for 5 years. Moved from New York for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.
**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. East schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Dating scene is rough. Limited entertainment options. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 6/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The traffic is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

Moved here from Houston about 14 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to cost of living but Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from Atlanta about 7 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is underrated.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Fairview. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Southern.
