Anyone else feel this way? I'm a 27-year-old mechanic and Poverty rate is 7.6%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $101,979, which feels pretty solid for the area. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Downtown. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in South for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- The dating scene scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Rising rent and home prices
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Hope this helps!.
