Best kept secrets of Holly Springs, GA

Hey, Household incomes average around $111,224 in Holly Springs. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $414,700, which is pretty steep. It's a a small town city with about 17,693 people. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cheers. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Denver about 14 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a data analyst, 28, moved here 14 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in Uptown and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good internet infrastructure
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited shopping options
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The dating scene situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for singles. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $60K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
