Affordable areas near Hollywood?

Anyone else feel this way? Homes are going for about $374,200 on average. Poverty rate is 9.6%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Does this match your experience? Thanks! It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 6 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
