Best coffee shops in Holyoke?
Longtime lurker here, I'm retired and Poverty rate is 18.0%, which is higher than I expected. With a population of 37,949, Holyoke is a smaller city. Rent is about $1,016/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Should I be concerned? The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
