OK so Poverty rate is 18.0%, which is higher than I expected. With a population of 37,949, Holyoke is a smaller city. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
