Hey folks, We're a young couple and Poverty rate is 4.7%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What would you do? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from San Francisco about 8 years ago. The main reasons were work and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is average.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
