Hi all, I grew up here but left for a while. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 24,516, Homer Glen is a small town. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Worth the trade-offs? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The public transit is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The food scene is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
