Commute times in Homer -how bad?

Longtime lurker here, I'm originally from Boston and Crime rate is something to consider -Homer sits at 805.4 per 100K. With a population of 3,110, Homer is a small town. Median household income is $71,675, which feels about average for the area. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Does this match your experience? Thanks! People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The dating scene is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
