First post here. Rent is about $1,619/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Minneapolis about 11 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is average.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Good luck with whatever you decide..
