Thinking about relocating to Homestead from Indianapolis

Alright, I relocated for work and Poverty rate is 15.5%, which is higher than I expected. It's a a smaller city city with about 80,725 people. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Does this match your experience? Thanks!

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The walkability is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The healthcare is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Downtown. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in consulting. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much stable but now it's surprisingly good.
