Working remotely from Homestead — my experience

I've been working remotely from Homestead for 13 years now. Here's my take:

The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.

Cost of living: pretty reasonable
Internet: Fiber available in most areas — no complaints
Coworking spaces: Growing number of options

If you're looking for a place to WFH, Homestead is underrated for remote workers.

The job market has been improving lately. Several retail companies moved in recently.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

Been here 20 years. The city has changed a lot but overall for the better.

Check out the Highland Park area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

I'd add that healthcare options are better than most cities this size. Otherwise spot on!

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Cedar Hills and Southside are perfectly safe.

Rent tip: look for places in fall. Prices drop and there's more availability.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.
