How is Homewood for outdoor activities?

Longtime lurker here, With a population of 19,471, Homewood is a small town. Household incomes average around $96,522 in Homewood. Homes are going for about $210,500 on average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Should I be concerned? Thanks in advance! Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I've lived in Pine Hills for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Affordable housing options
- The job market scene is decent

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. No regrets on my end..
