Household incomes average around $95,694 in Honey Brook. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What would you do?

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Hope this helps!.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Pittsburgh it's tough.

Bought a house here in 2024 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Used to live on the East side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Portland about 11 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are reasonable, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Hope this helps!.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely pretty good and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Downtown) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Downtown for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Four distinct seasons
- The traffic scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 12 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into running, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
