Dog-friendly places in Honeygo?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Rent is about $1,224/month for a decent place. Median household income is $144,156, which feels pretty solid for the area. With a population of 12,022, Honeygo is a small town. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Anyone in a similar situation? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The community vibe is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great Southern places. I genuinely enjoy living here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a HR manager, 52, moved here 7 years ago from Miami. I've lived in Lakewood and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Good internet infrastructure
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The job market situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Lakewood: Great for remote workers. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $80K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 3 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Boston it's better than expected.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The cost of living is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely solid and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Homeless population growing downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
