So, I'm retired and Poverty rate is 9.8%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 1.4%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Worth the trade-offs? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to.

Came here for work and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I work in tech here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is hit or miss. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Tampa about 5 years ago. The main reasons were weather and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is challenging.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Feel free to reach out with questions..
