Anyone else feel this way? Born and raised here. With a population of 23,069, Horizon City is a small town. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Would love some local perspective.

I've lived in South for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- The traffic scene is solid
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from Raleigh about 1 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is tough.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 5 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The school system is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
