Best areas to explore in Horizon West?

Random thought, I'm single, late 40s, and The median home value here is around $498,700, which is pretty steep. Poverty rate is 4.6%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. Has anyone dealt with this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a nurse, 28, moved here 13 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in Uptown and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The weather situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for retirees. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $50K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
