Horizon West is underrated, change my mind

Hey, Any advice would be great. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Moved here from San Diego about 6 years ago. it was the best decision I ever made. Still getting used to school system but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in Uptown area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Eastside for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
- The housing market scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Greenfield for 9 years. Moved from Charlotte for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is decent - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Limited high-paying job options. And cultural scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 9/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

Used to live on the Downtown side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.
