Is Horsham walkable?

I'm a remote worker and You can expect to pay around $1,251 for rent here. Poverty rate is 1.3%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What do you all think? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great farm-to-table places. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Midtown for 6 years. Moved from Salt Lake City for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
construction is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Midtown schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Property taxes are high. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 7/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is underrated in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 3 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into running, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 7 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Chicago about 14 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
