Biggest downsides of living in Houston?

Random thought, I work in energy and Poverty rate is 16.1%, which is higher than I expected. Household incomes average around $62,894 in Houston. With a population of 2.3M, Houston is a major city. Average temperature is around 72°F, so it's warm year-round. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Would love some local perspective. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Used to live on the South side, now on the Maple Ridge side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
