Anyone else love living in Howard?

You can expect to pay around $1,053 for rent here. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Thanks for reading. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Tampa about 11 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is decent.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.
