Considering Huber Heights vs Austin -help me decide

Been meaning to ask this. Born and raised here. Median household income is $76,551, which feels about average for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Anyone in a similar situation? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Seattle about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Active local events and festivals
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to New York it's average.
