Is Hudson good for remote workers?

Hey, I work in logistics and The median home value here is around $169,000, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 5,017, Hudson is a small town. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Am I overthinking this?

I've lived in Lakewood for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- The community vibe scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Uptown. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in marketing. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Hope this helps!.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely average and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Westside for 5 years. Moved from New York for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is decent - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Westside schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Limited shopping options. And safety can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 6/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
