What surprised you most about Hueytown?

Curious what people think. My partner and I are Homes are going for about $142,900 on average. The median home value here is around $142,900, which is actually reasonable. Median household income is $62,362, which feels about average for the area. Rent is about $1,276/month for a decent place. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What neighborhoods would you suggest? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I'm a marketing manager and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.
