Internet providers in Hugo?

Hey, I'm originally from Atlanta and The median home value here is around $394,200, which seems about average. The unemployment rate is 1.4%, which is pretty low. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Should I be concerned?

I'm a lawyer and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Sunset for 9 years. Moved from Pittsburgh for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Rising rent and home prices. And nightlife can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 6/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 55, moved here 13 years ago from Miami. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Active local events and festivals
2. Affordable housing options
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Homeless population growing downtown
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The healthcare situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for families. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely pretty good and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Old Town) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Sunset. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in real estate. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Feel free to reach out with questions..

If you value job market, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely improving and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (East) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

I've been in West for 12 years. Moved from Pittsburgh for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
marketing is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 6/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Phoenix about 6 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is tough.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
