Weekend activities in Hull?

Hey folks, I'm a 43-year-old pharmacist and Rent is about $1,885/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The weather is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in The Heights for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The food scene scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The public transit is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a sales manager, 49, moved here 14 years ago from Houston. I've lived in Lakewood and Downtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Great outdoor activities nearby
3. Friendly community, easy to meet people
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Not very walkable outside downtown
3. The cost of living situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Lakewood: Great for retirees. solid vibes, walkable.
- Downtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Houston, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $50K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Fairview. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in real estate. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much established but now it's decent.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The cost of living is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a electrician and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is solid and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Sunset. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in real estate. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Southern.
