Is it worth buying in Humacao zona urbana?

So, My family moved here when I was a kid. Median household income is $21,366, which feels on the lower side for the area. Average temperature is around 79--F, so it's warm year-round. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Does this match your experience? The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Raleigh about 11 years ago. The main reasons were work and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is solid.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Definitely worth checking out..

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.
