Moving from Memphis to Humacao zona urbana next month
Hey everyone, I'm a teacher here and With a population of 15,893, Humacao zona urbana is a small town. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 79--F, so it's warm year-round. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Should I be concerned? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in Eastside for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
- The school system scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The cultural scene is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..
