Housing in Hunters Creek compared to Baltimore

Hey everyone, My family moved here when I was a kid. Poverty rate is 8.0%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $2,006/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $426,000 on average. Household incomes average around $99,942 in Hunters Creek. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Has anyone dealt with this? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Tampa about 1 years ago. The main reasons were family and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is better than expected.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Happy to answer more specific questions..
