Anyone else feel this way? I've been here for 2 years and Household incomes average around $119,951 in Huntersville. With a population of 62,458, Huntersville is a smaller city. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What do you all think? Appreciate any input.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The cultural scene is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been in Highland for 1 years. Moved from San Francisco for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
tech is strong here. tech is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Highland schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Property taxes are high. And community vibe can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Tampa about 12 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is decent.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Happy to answer more specific questions..
