First post here. I'm a 42-year-old physical therapist and The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $439,300 on average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much growing but now it's underrated.

I've lived in The Heights for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- The dating scene scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Austin about 15 years ago. The main reasons were family and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is tough.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been in Highland for 10 years. Moved from Boston for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
retail is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is tough - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Highland schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Dating scene is rough. And public transit can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
