Huntingburg housing prices -when will it stop?
First post here. I'm a 38-year-old mechanic and Household incomes average around $52,327 in Huntingburg. With a population of 6,504, Huntingburg is a small town. Poverty rate is 13.9%, which is around average. The unemployment rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good job market
- Low crime in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Sprawl everywhere
- Boring for young people
- Limited cultural events
- Not enough green space
Should I be concerned? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to.
