Best industries in Huntingdon right now

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm retired and It's a a small town city with about 6,884 people. With a population of 6,884, Huntingdon is a small town. Median household income is $66,429, which feels about average for the area. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Should I be concerned? Appreciate any input. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from LA about 11 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
