Hello, We have two kids and Poverty rate is 4.6%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $119,885, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $119,885 in Huntington Beach. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I wrong here? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Moved here from Seattle about 1 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to housing market but Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to New York it's pretty good.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- The public transit scene is decent
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
