Affordable areas near Huntington Park?

Hey everyone, I've been here for 17 years and The unemployment rate is 6.2%, which is concerning. It's a a smaller city city with about 53,658 people. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Does this match your experience? The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Meadowbrook. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in tech. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Southern.

I've lived in Westside for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- The walkability scene is decent

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Bought a house here in 2020 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

I've lived in North for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The cost of living scene is improving

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..
