Housing market in Huntsville — is it worth buying?

Median home value here is around $263,100. Prices are reasonable compared to major metros. For those renting, typical rent is $1078.

Is now a good time to buy in Huntsville? Or better to keep renting?

Looking for opinions from both homeowners and renters.

I've lived in Old Town for 13 years and it's still one of the best decisions I made.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

Coming from LA, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are slightly more expensive but housing makes up for it.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Pine Grove. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Don't sleep on Riverside. It's up and coming and still affordable.
