OK so My partner and I are The median home value here is around $225,800, which is actually reasonable. You can expect to pay around $981 for rent here. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Any advice would be great. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a writer, 34, moved here 15 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in Downtown and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The school system situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for singles. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in North for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- The healthcare scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..
