Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a teacher here and Average temperature is around 67--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. Has anyone dealt with this? Thanks for reading. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is underrated in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from LA about 14 years ago. The main reasons were school and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in Westside area are tough. Kids love it here.
