The unemployment rate is 1.1%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 5 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from San Diego about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
