There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I wrong here? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I've lived in Springfield for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- The dating scene scene is average
The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much reasonable but now it's challenging.

- Close to major attractions
- The nightlife scene is average

- Winters are long and cold
- Limited high-paying job options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. No regrets on my end..
