Hey everyone, Household incomes average around $113,906 in Hurstbourne. With a population of 4,669, Hurstbourne is a small town. It's a a small town city with about 4,669 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Has anyone dealt with this? Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Eastside for 2 years. Moved from Denver for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
marketing is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Property taxes are high. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 5/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is challenging in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 7 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Riverside. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in engineering. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
