Considering Hurt vs Los Angeles -help me decide

I'm a teacher here and Household incomes average around $50,263 in Hurt. It's a a small town city with about 1,382 people. Poverty rate is 8.4%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Should I be concerned? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Lakewood area are tough. Kids love it here.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is cultural scene. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
