Hi all, Household incomes average around $71,730 in Hutchinson. The median home value here is around $210,300, which is actually reasonable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Am I wrong here? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely challenging and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Uptown) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Bought a house here in 2022 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
