Hutto job market vs Boston

Been meaning to ask this. I'm single, late 30s, and Median household income is $115,149, which feels pretty solid for the area. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I wrong here? The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely better than expected and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Uptown. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in West. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in real estate. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Asian.

No regrets on my end..
