Hello, I'm a remote worker and Rent is about $2,202/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $115,149 in Hutto. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. Anyone in a similar situation?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Denver about 14 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is decent.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Came here for school and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The housing market is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Sunset for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- The housing market scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..
