What surprised you most about Hutto?

Anyone else feel this way? I work in legal and Rent is about $2,202/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $315,800 on average. You can expect to pay around $2,202 for rent here. Household incomes average around $115,149 in Hutto. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Nice parks and trails
- Growing food scene
- Low taxes

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Cold winters
- Limited dining options
- High property taxes
- Not enough green space
Any advice would be great. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is traffic. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.
